Many things change in our lives, but we can take great comfort in knowing that we serve an unchanging God. We welcome you to join us in a family-oriented, Christ-centered place of worship to foster a greater relationship with our risen Saviour. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HERITAGE BAPTIST?
What's the purpose of Heritage Baptist Church? Why do we meet as a local assembly? Why does God allow us to occupy the hilltop on John Redditt Dr. in Lufkin, TX?
· We are an UPWARD church
The focus is on God and our worship of Him. It is possible to get so involved in the work of the Lord that we fail to recognize the Lord of the work. Above all things, we want to bring glory to our Saviour by worshiping Him.
· We are an INWARD church
The focus is on the godly and the perfecting of the saints. It’s a time to “mend the nets” of our lives and be trained in the things of God. It’s a time of edification of the body of Christ.
· We are an OUTWARD church
There is also a focus on those without God. Jesus commissioned the disciples to go, preach, and teach. The training that we receive for the inward ministry is not to be kept, but used to spread the message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
